Who We Are
The Chimborazo Park Conservancy is a Virginia nonstock corporation and registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, incorporated on March 10, 2023.
We grew out of the grassroots volunteer group Friends of Chimborazo Park, formalizing years of community-driven stewardship into a lasting institution.
We are an all-volunteer organization — no part of our earnings benefits any private individual. Every dollar raised goes directly toward the park.
What We Do
We are in the process of developing a long-term strategy for the recovery and enhancements of the park, in concert with park users and Richmond Parks and Recreation Department.
We organize volunteer efforts on projects and events to support the restoration, beautification, and preservation of Chimborazo Park.
Where We're Headed
Our long-term goal is a fully restored park with reconstructed historical elements, public play and sports spaces, and both indoor and outdoor areas for community gatherings, activities, and recreation — a place that honors the past while serving the neighborhood's future.
