In the fall of 2022, Friends of Chimborazo Park conducted a comprehensive survey of park users and the broader Church Hill community to better understand how residents use Chimborazo Park and envision its future. More than 300 people responded, sharing their priorities for investment, safety, events, and historic restoration.
The results paint a clear picture: this is a park that is deeply loved and heavily used. Nearly 90% of respondents visit daily or weekly, and the community has strong opinions about what comes next — from trail improvements and ADA-accessible walkways to farmers’ markets and the restoration of the park's historic cobblestone roads and central fountain.
These findings have guided the Conservancy's advocacy with the City of Richmond and continue to shape our long-term vision for the park. We're sharing the full results here so that everyone in the community can see what their neighbors had to say.
